Welcome to our School. We are proud to be recognised as a very successful and popular community Junior school situated near the Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire borders. Opening in 1966, our school benefits from extensive and well maintained facilities with extensive playing fields, a purpose built multi sports’ area and well developed quiet areas. The school grounds offer excellent environmental facilities, including a natural habitat pond, nature trail, an organic orchard, vegetable gardens and an Environmental Centre. Over the last few years we have won awards for our school grounds and are aiming to achieve the Green Flag Award in the near future.
The leaders, governors and staff are committed to providing a broad and balanced curriculum where learning is enjoyable, pupil owned, fit for purpose and relevant to these time and our community. We explore new ideas and ensure that the CTJS curriculum is challenging, differentiated and exciting for all.
Our children are encouraged to identify and nurture their own talents, become independent, responsible and learn from one another. We pride ourselves on developing positive and confident and resilient children who take responsibility for their learning and become learners for life.
In recognition of the school’s outstanding commitment to promoting the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, physical activity and school sport, we have achieved and maintained the Healthy Schools’ and Sport England Awards.
Most of the children joining CTJS come from College Town Infant School. A programme is in place to ensure a smooth transition between Year 2 & 3. We work closely with the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst to support the service children and their families as they move into the area. We also have a programme in place for our EAL children, the majority of whom are from Nepal.
