Mr Hellyer unleashes his Pedal Power!

Mr Hellyer has completed a charity bicycle ride to raise funds for the school.

During the Easter holidays, Mr Hellyer from Year 5 and two of his friends set out on an epic journey from John O’Groat’s to Lands End to help raise money for the school.

Over 9 days-through some pretty horrible weather conditions-they cycled the length of the UK, which is around 1000 miles.

Mr Hellyer, along with the support of his dad in the back up vehicle (and sleeping quarters for the duration of the challenge)  cycled over 100 miles most days, and witnessed some breathtaking scenery along the way. The trip was not without its ups and downs though; punctures and potholes all got the better of the 3 cyclists at some stage during the trip, but we're glad to say that Mr Hellyer made it back safe & sound without any lasting scars and raised the fantastic sum of £1000! Thank you to all our families that kindly sponsored him.

As a school, we are all incredibly proud of Mr Hellyer, and enjoyed hearing all about the trip in a special assembly. The School Council are now discussing how we will be spending the money after taking suggestions from pupils around the school.
