Pupil and Sports' Premium
At College Town Junior School we are committed to helping every child and their families achieve their very best. Through developing a broad, balanced, challenging and exciting curriculum, we aim to promote the progress and attainment of all our pupils. We recognise that barriers to achievement take a variety of forms and will do whatever it takes to support a child, both in and out of the classroom to enable them to reach or exceed the nationally expected level for their age. We strive to involve the families of our pupils in their education and endeavour to create an inclusive school community, where all children have access to school services and all pupils and families benefit equally.
College Town Junior School has used some of our Pupil Premium funding to increase small focus group teaching and one to one tuition that takes place. In addition money has been targeted on social skills group sessions provided by teachers and experienced teaching assistants, ensuring that entitled students receive opportunity for additional support.
Please follow the links below for full details of how our Pupil Premium is put to use and the impact it has achieved:
The Pupil Premium is allocated to children from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) and children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months. Pupil Premium is also allocated to pupils from service families. The funding is allocated to schools and is clearly identifiable. It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility.
